A line of showers with gusty winds will be moving across the area
late this morning into early afternoon. This will likely be the
time when the strongest gusts of the day occur. Gusts will be
mostly 40-55 mph, but some areas will see gusts around 60 mph.
Gusts up to 70 mph will be possible across Long Island and coastal
Connecticut.

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured
objects. Downed trees and powerlines are possible as well.

* WHAT...Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph

morning.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey,
and southeast New York.

* WHEN...Until midnight EST tonight.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will shift from southwest to west
Friday afternoon.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

* WHAT...Southwest winds 30 to 40 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and
seas 11 to 16 feet. Isolated gusts up to 50 kt possible Friday
morning. Winds will shift from southwest to west Friday
afternoon.

* WHERE...Sandy Hook NJ to Montauk Point NY out 20 nm.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
